Because it's the offseason and I'm bored, one day a time machine appears and out climb the 1999 Rams. They want a game. Uh oh.
Current Offense vs. 1999 Defense:
If the 1999 team can get out to a quick lead, this game is over. The 1999 defense is well versed in preserving leads. The OL's biggest job will be keeping Sam from seeing the numbers on any classic jerseys, particularly Kevin Carter's. MLB London Fletcher is underrated and dangerous. Tavon Austin's efficacy might be limited due to this defense seeing fellow mismatch maker Marshall Faulk every week in practice.
1999 Offense vs. Current Defense:
The current team's only hope is putting pressure on Kurt Warner. That's going to be easier said than done. Robert Quinn's unenviable task is to get around the ultra talented Orlando Pace, and it's going to be the unenviable task of our secondary to somehow contain TWO #1 quality receivers in Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt and a talented rest of the corps as well. DO NOT LET MARSHALL FAULK CREATE MISMATCHES.
Special Teams:
While Austin is a dangerous weapon for us, Tony Horne and Az Hakim can change games as well. Our one clear advantage in this game is that I'll take Johnny Hekker over Mike Horan/Rick Tuten any day of the week.
I'm just hoping we can keep this dream game from being TOO embarassing:
1999 Team: 35, Current Team: 14
